Advocacy

Nebraska AIDS Project seeks to achieve our mission by advocating for and advancing policy initiatives in the areas of HIV prevention, increasing access to care for people living with HIV, and protecting existing HIV services and rights. NAP pursues its policy and advocacy work in partnership with people living with HIV, national partners, and local service providers.

Our advocacy program conducts its work through three main program goals:

  • Legislative advocacy: Advancing a legislative agenda that forwards proactive HIV/AIDS policy and protects existing service levels and rights of people living with HIV.
  • Coalitions and partnerships: Positioning the Nebraska AIDS Project as a policy leader in the HIV community and on related policy and advocacy coalitions
  • Community organizing: Building an educated and mobilized network of advocates, both living with and affected by HIV, at the community level
